2013 Fun With Sugar Registration

Sweeten your sugar repertoire with a spiced up afternoon of fun and great ideas. Join me as I host a wonderful team of skilled artists who have volunteered to teach you some up-to-date decorative detailing. Nothing beats up close and personal and this is your chance to ask questions of proven experts.

Do you know the fundamentals of award winning techniques? Are you a master or a beginner or somewhere in between? Are you ‘iffy’ about creating flowers and cake decor from gum paste? Then ponder no more. Our workshops are designed to cover many facets of cake decoration. Presentations will include multiple elements to help build amazing cakes or create toppers or side designs.

Look for Robin Van Hoozer’s fancy fantasy flowers: piped extension work, pastillage pillars, and a gum paste iris per favor of Dawn Parrott. Kim Payne promises a detailed Western saddle, while Lori Cossou will share step-by-step handmade peonies and Jennifer Jones’ miniature flowerpot cakes. Becky Willard will create edgy decorative patterns using brand new cutters from Flour Connections and Rebecca Sutterby gives the inside skinny on making hand modeled figures. Jayne Cunningham plans to royal ice her sculpted heart out, let you play along with her, and take home the evidence! Jennifer Matsubara’s presentation will be about her new ‘pearl tucks,’ and Glenda Galvez demystifies her lovely signature hydrangeas.

Mm mm, all that and lots more; it promises to be a fascinating afternoon. Bring a notebook!

Newcomers’ Info

At Fun With Sugar, each artist hosts a table and demonstrates his/her chosen project. There will be two shifts of demonstrators. Visitors can move at will from one table to another, just like musical chairs.

HOW TO FIND US
Heading westbound on I-44? Take the Yale exit to the right.

Turn right onto Yale.

Continue to 21st Street, turn left. The Tulsa State Fairgrounds are on the right.

Enter Gate 12 and proceed to Central Park Hall. Enter by the south door.
