Big Batch Brownies are a delightful treat that can satisfy a crowd or a cozy night in. Rich, fudgy, and topped with a luscious glaze, the brownies take the classic dessert to new heights. Everyone will be asking for seconds or maybe thirds after enjoying the chocolatey bites.

When it comes to making Big Batch Brownies, you can swap the bittersweet chocolate for semisweet if you prefer a sweeter flavor. If nuts aren’t your thing, feel free to omit them altogether or substitute them with your favorite mix-ins, like chocolate chips or dried fruit. Always ensure that your butter is unsalted for better control over the saltiness of your batter, and if you have allergies, remember that chocolate can sometimes contain traces of nuts or dairy.

Big Batch Brownies Recipe
Ingredients
- 5 ounces squares bittersweet chocolate
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 2/3 cups flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 5 eggs
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup chopped nuts (either pecans or walnuts)
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/2 squares semisweet chocolate
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Heat your oven to 350 degrees F.
- Melt 5 ounces of bittersweet chocolate and 3/4 cup of butter together over low heat. Once melted, allow the mixture to cool down somewhat.
- Sift together 1 2/3 cups of flour, 1 1/4 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1 1/4 teaspoons of salt in a bowl, then set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat 5 eggs well. Gradually add in 2 1/2 cups of sugar, beating until the mixture is thick and creamy.
- Add in 1 1/4 teaspoons of vanilla and the cooled melted chocolate and butter mixture, blending everything well together.
- Gently stir in the dry ingredients and 1 cup of chopped nuts until just combined—don’t overmix.
- Pour the brownie batter into a greased 11 x 15 sheet pan, spreading it out evenly.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the brownies are baking, prepare the glaze by melting 1/2 cup of butter and 1 1/2 squares of semisweet chocolate together in a saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup of powdered sugar and 1 egg, mixing until smooth.
- Once the brownies are done, pour the glaze over them while they are still warm, spreading it evenly.
