Chocolate Cake Pudding is a delightful dessert that combines the richness of chocolate with a wonderful pudding-like texture. Simple to make, the dish is perfect for satisfying your chocolate cravings without a fuss.

When it comes to making Chocolate Cake Pudding, feel free to substitute almond milk or soy milk for a non-dairy option. If you’re avoiding gluten, a good gluten-free flour can work just as well. Just keep in mind that the texture might vary a bit. Always check for allergies to cocoa or dairy if serving to guests.

Chocolate Cake Pudding Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 1 1/2 cups water
- sweet whipped cream or ice cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a greased 9-inch square pan, combine 1 cup all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 1/8 teaspoon salt, 3/4 cup sugar, and 2 tablespoons cocoa, stirring well to mix.
- Stir in 1/2 cup milk, 3 tablespoons melted butter, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, spreading the mixture evenly in the pan.
- In a separate bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar, and 1/4 cup cocoa, then sprinkle the mixture evenly over the batter in the pan.
- Carefully pour 1 1/2 cups water over the top of the layered mixture. Do not stir the water in; it will help create the pudding-like texture as it bakes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes, or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
- Let it cool slightly, then serve warm with sweet whipped cream or ice cream for an indulgent treat.
