If you’re craving a sweet and creamy treat, try making Coffee Fudge (Or Vanilla or Whatever You Want). It’s a simple yet indulgent dessert that can be tailored to your taste, whether you prefer the rich flavor of coffee or the sweet notes of vanilla. Let’s get started on the delightful concoction.

When it comes to substitutions for the fudge, you have a few creative options. If coffee isn’t your thing, vanilla extract works wonderfully, or you can even get adventurous with other flavors. Nuts add a delightful crunch, but feel free to omit them if you’re looking for a nut-free confection. Always choose the freshest ingredients possible for the best results, and keep in mind any allergies when selecting your nuts.

Coffee Fudge (Or Vanilla or Whatever You Want) Recipe
Ingredients
- 8 ounces fresh milk
- 4 ounces sugar
- 4 ounces butter
- 3 tablespoons coffee extract (or 3 tsp instant coffee & 3 tbs hot water)
- walnuts, pecans or almonds
- vanilla (omit coffee and add vanilla extract instead or another flavor)
Instructions
- Pour 8 ounces of fresh milk into a medium heavy-based saucepan, attaching a sugar thermometer.
- Bring the milk slowly to a boil over medium heat.
- Add 4 ounces of sugar and 4 ounces of butter to the saucepan, stirring continuously until the sugar dissolves and the butter melts.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, cover, and let it boil for 2 minutes.
- Uncover and continue to boil steadily for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the thermometer reads 116°C (235-240°F). At the stage, a drop of the mixture in cold water should form a soft ball when rolled between your fingers.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the coffee flavoring (and nuts if you’re using them). Let it cool for about 5 minutes.
- Beat the fudge mixture until it just starts to lose its gloss and thickens.
- Transfer the fudge to a greased 7-inch square tin, smoothing it out evenly.
- When almost set, mark the fudge into 50 squares with a knife.
- Once firmly set, cut along the marked lines and store the fudge in an airtight container.
