Cookie Ornament Cups Recipe

Cookie Ornament Cups are a whimsical twist on holiday treats, combining cookie dough and festive decorations into delightful edible ornaments. Perfect for family gatherings, the sweet treats bring joy and creativity to your baking table while making the season a little sweeter.

Cookie Ornament Cups recipe

When making Cookie Ornament Cups, consider using store-bought cookie dough for convenience or even a homemade version if you’re feeling adventurous. You can swap the Frosty WONKA® NERDS® with similar candies or sprinkles based on your taste, and any type of frosting can work well, though the white variety beautifully contrasts with colorful decorations. If allergies are a concern, ensure the sprinkles and frosting are nut-free, and feel free to use mini chocolate pretzels if you can’t find the regular ones for the hooks.

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 1/2 ounce) package NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Refrigerated Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar Dough
  • 1 (16 ounce) container prepared white frosting, divided
  • red food coloring
  • 2 plastic sandwich bags (for food storage, quart size)
  • Frosty WONKA® NERDS®
  • various holiday sprinkles, sugars and or decorating gels
  • miniature pretzel twists, broken for ornament hook (24 hooks are needed)
  • 24 NESTLÉ® Jingles, any flavor, unwrapped

Instructions

  1. PREHEAT oven to 350º F. Grease 24 mini-muffin cups.
  2. Place one square (from the 16 1/2 ounce package) of cookie dough into each cup.
  3. BAKE for 15 to 17 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely in pan(s) on a wire rack.
  4. With the tip of a butter knife, carefully remove cookie cups from muffin pan(s).
  5. SPOON half of the prepared white frosting into a plastic bag and seal it. Stir red food coloring into the remaining frosting until the desired shade is achieved. Fill the other plastic bag with the colored frosting and seal it.
  6. Cut 1/2-inch from the corner of each bag. Squeeze bags lightly to pipe frosting on top of each cookie cup, forming a rounded ornament shape.
  7. Decorate with Frosty WONKA® NERDS®, holiday sprinkles, sugars, and/or gels as desired.
  8. Place one Nestlé Jingle on top of each cookie cup. To secure the miniature pretzel hooks, use a small amount of frosting.
