Fried Peaches With Honey, Cinnamon, Pistachio and Breadcrumbs is a delightful dessert that combines sweet and savory elements to create a mouthwatering treat. Imagine luscious peaches caramelized in honey and cinnamon, topped with crunchy pistachios and sour cream. It’s a perfect way to enjoy summer’s bounty.

Choosing ripe, fresh peaches is crucial for a juicy and flavorful experience. If you can’t find fresh peaches, nectarines can be a great substitute. For those with nut allergies, feel free to omit the pistachios or replace them with sunflower seeds. A high-quality honey will enhance the overall flavor, so it’s worth seeking out a good source, especially if you’re aiming for that sweet-tart balance with the cinnamon and rum.

Fried Peaches With Honey, Cinnamon, Pistachio and Breadcrumbs Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 peaches (fresh)
- 3 tablespoons honey (from acacia or other light honey)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (grounded)
- 4 tablespoons sour cream
- 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon pistachios (roughly grounded)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 tablespoons rum
Instructions
- Wash the 2 peaches, cut them in halves, and carefully remove the stone.
- In a dry frying pan, heat 3 tablespoons of honey, then add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and 3 tablespoons of rum.
- Place the peach halves cut-side down in the pan and fry for about 8-10 minutes, turning them occasionally to coat with the syrup.
- As the peaches soften, the honey will reduce and become syrupy, creating a delectable glaze.
- In another pan, first fry 1 tablespoon of roughly grounded pistachios until fragrant, then remove.
- Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the same pan, then brown 2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs until golden. Mix in a dash of cinnamon before removing from heat.
- To serve, place a peach half on a plate, pour over some honey syrup, and sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture combined with pistachios into the stone hole. Add a spoon of sour cream on the side and serve warm.
