Making Pretzel Wreaths is a delightful way to combine sweet and salty flavors for a festive treat. The charming little snacks can add a touch of whimsy to any gathering, and they’re surprisingly easy to whip up in no time.

For the vanilla chips, feel free to swap in any vanilla-flavored candy coating if that’s what you have on hand. Always check for any allergies with the pretzels and licorice, as some brands may contain gluten or other allergens. You might even consider using chocolate-coated pretzels if you’re in the mood for a twist on flavor.

Pretzel Wreaths Recipe
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup white vanilla chip (or 5 oz. vanilla-flavored candy coating)
- 72 miniature pretzels
- 6 pieces red licorice strings (24 inches each)
Instructions
- Line 2 cookie sheets with waxed paper.
- In a small saucepan, melt 3/4 cup vanilla chips over low heat, stirring constantly to ensure a smooth consistency.
- Using 6 pretzels, form a circle on the waxed paper-lined cookie sheet, placing the side of the pretzel with 1 hole on the outside of the ring.
- Remove 1 pretzel from the circle; dip the inner section (the side with 2 holes) halfway into the melted vanilla chips.
- Place the dipped pretzel back into the circle formation. Continue with the remaining pretzels in the circle.
- To form the top layer of the wreath, dip 6 additional pretzels, one at a time, in the coating and place them over the first circle so that the coated holes overlap 2 pretzels.
- Repeat the process to make 5 additional wreaths, ensuring they look festive and fun.
- Refrigerate the wreaths for 15 minutes or until the coating is firm to the touch.
- Weave 1 piece of red licorice string through the coated holes in each pretzel. Finally, tie a bow with the ends of the licorice.
