Strawberry Shortcake Old Fashioned Style is a delightful dessert that brings together fresh strawberries, fluffy whipped cream, and tender shortcakes. The recipe takes you back to simpler times, where each ingredient shines, creating a sweet treat that’s perfect for any occasion.

When it comes to sourcing ingredients, fresh strawberries are key, so look for ripe, juicy ones at your local market. If you’re cutting back on sugar, feel free to adjust the amount used with the strawberries and shortcake. For those with dairy allergies, you could substitute non-dairy alternatives for the whipping cream and half-and-half, though the flavor will vary slightly. Lastly, the almond extract adds a lovely depth, yet can be omitted if nut allergies are a concern.
