For those needing to make substitutions, unsalted butter can be replaced with margarine, while a non-dairy milk or yogurt can substitute for sour cream. Be mindful of nut allergies if serving to a crowd, and ensure all ingredients, especially chocolate and confectioners’ sugar, are gluten-free if needed, as some brands may vary.

  • 1 lb confectioners’ sugar, sifted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease a 15x10x1-inch jelly roll pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup unsalted butter, 1 cup water, and 1/4 cup cocoa; heat until the butter melts and the mixture is combined.
